WELCOME TO OAK AND RYE CATERING!
With our woodfired oven, we can cater any type of party, ANYWHERE!!! From a back yard birthday bash, to an elegant wedding reception, we will bring the amazing food and friendly service that you deserve!
What is the best way to contact us?
Email is always best! Contact our Special Events Coordiantor at (firstname.lastname@example.org). You can also call the restaurant at (408) 395-4441, although sometimes we work remotely, so we may not be available to take your call!
What is included in your package prices?
Our food and beverage packages include the cost of FOOD & BEVERAGE ONLY. Labor, Sales Tax and rental fees are not included in the package prices.
Where can the oven go?
Our mobile oven can be transported just about anywhere and needs 10 x 20ft of outdoor space near where food will be served. Sidewalks are okay, as long as there is low foot traffic and legal parking. If the road to your event is steep or windy, please allow us to access it ahead of time to make sure the oven can make it.
Our oven is ready to go anywhere! For parties farther than 40 miles from our restaurant, we do add our travel time in the staff's hourly pay. To get a quote for a far away location, email (email@example.com)
What will we bring?
You will choose your menu ahead of time. We will bring everything we need to prepare your selections. We will take care of all of our own setup and break down. Depending on your menu, we may need access to power and rent kitchen equipment on your behalf for an additional charge. We will make all arrangements for delivery and pick-up of these rentals.
How will the food be served?
All of our food can be served as a buffet, or served family-style on large platters for you guests to share. We can serve pizzas on paper plates or on metal tins. We can also rent china plates and service ware for an additional charge. For parties that do not include a "sit-down" dinner, we do have passed canape options.
What kind of bar service do we offer?
All of our Beverage Packages include unlimited booze for the duration of your party. Our bartenders can work with you to create a custom wine, beer &/or cocktail menus. We may need to rent bar hieght tables or other equiptment, depending on the complexity of your event.
*We do not offer bar staff without the choice of a beverage package.
Can I add food to my package? / Can I create my own package?
Yes! All of our packages are customizable to fit your taste and budget. See our list of “add ons” for pricing. Contact our Events Coordinator with specific package questions. (firstname.lastname@example.org) Food and beverage packages do not include labor, sales tax, oven and admin fee.
Do you do tastings?
If you would like to try our food before booking us for an event, simply come in for lunch or dinner! We do not offer "tastings" of our food.
Will you provide servers?
Yes! We can provide many different levels of service depending on the complexity of your event.
What does your Events Coordinator do?
Some events require more planning than others. Our coordinator will take care of every detail involving the food service for your event. Our coordinator is available for site visits in the weeks leading up to your event. She will also prepare a timeline for food firing, as well as a billing estimate for you.
Do you charge a gratuity?
We do not automatically charge a gratuity to your bill.
How for in advance do I need to plan my event?
For large scale events (100+) we appreciate at least 60 days notice. For parties smaller than 100 people, we appreciate at least 30 days notice. It's always good to email us ASAP if you have a set date in mind, in case we are already booked. Final guest counts and menu selections must be recived within 14 days of your event date.
*A 50% deposit will be taken to secure your event date.
**We do not book events that are more than one year away.
What information do we need to book an event?
Event Date - Approximate Start & End Time - Guest Count - Food &/or Beverage Package Selections.
For weddings and receptions, a brief timeline of your event will be needed to determine a labor quote for you.
Other Rental Costs
$150 Oven Rental Fee, within 40 miles. Please inquire for price to farther locations.
$100 Administration Fee to cover the cost of our week-of Event Coordinator.
*Some additional kitchen equipment may need to be rented, depending on menu.
Can we cater without our oven?
Not usually, but if we do not need to bring the oven, we will not charge you a oven rental fee. If you choose a menu that does not feature pizza, we will rent whatever kitchen equiptment we need to execute your menu. Rental costs are passed directly onto you.
Minimum 50 people for off site events.
*We can still cater for groups smaller than 50, however you may be charged a premium.
Far Away Catering??
Are you throwing a party that is more than 40 miles outside the Los Gatos area? WE WOULD LOVE TO CATER IT!! We would be adding travel time 'to and from' the event into our staffs paid hourly rate, as well as $1 per mile, per vehicle to cover gas for the staff. We also add $2 per mile to cover the travel for our mobile oven. Mileage is estimated from 303 N Santa Cruz Ave to your event site.
